Replacing (RMA) or adding new switch to QFX5110/QFX5100 VCF don't work.

Hello I have issue adding new/RMA switch to VFC.

Our setup is 2 QFX5110-32Q as spine and various QFX5100-48T/S-6Q as leafs. One of leafs was RMA and also need to add additional QFX5100-48T-6Q as leafs.

All Juniper documentation list it as simple task, but for unknown reason it just don't work for me. Folowing this document I have set SN for new device (Copy&paste from console connection show chassis hardware so no typo and all upper case as should be).

They say, you need to install qfx-5e image on 5100 to join VFC so I have downloaded file install-media-host-usb-qfx-5e-flex-x86-64-18.1R1.9.img and installed from USB.

Versions should be now identical:
VCF reported version: --- JUNOS 18.1R1.9 Kernel 64-bit FLEX JNPR-11.0-20180308.0604c57_buil

Version on new installed 5100: --- JUNOS 18.1R1.9 Kernel 64-bit FLEX JNPR-11.0-20180308.0604c57_buil

After instalation only set virtual chassis mode to fabric on QFX5100 and reboot. (MAC and SN anonimized)

root> show virtual-chassis mode
localre:

Current mode : Virtual Chassis with similar devices
Future mode after reboot : Virtual Chassis with similar devices

root> request virtual-chassis mode fabric local reboot

Now connecting master spine device (et-0/0/2) with added leaf (second to last QSFP - 0/0/52). Link goes up, strange is interface LED don't work on leaf 5100.

user@existingVCF> show interfaces terse |match 0/0/2
et-0/0/2                up    up
et-0/0/2.16386          up    up

=============================
root> show interfaces terse | match 0/52
et-0/0/52 up up
et-0/0/52.16386 up up

On leaf device I didn't even entered configuration mode, so no setting preventing it to join cluser shouldn't be there.

Spine QFX5110 have each installed VFC licence.

I also tried different interface on spine box (0/0/2 was previously used to connect RMA box, used "requst virtual chassis vc-port delete ..." to convert it back as per following article) without any luck.

 My configuration on VCF (anonimized):

user@existingVCF> show configuration virtual-chassis
preprovisioned;
member 0 {
    role routing-engine;
    serial-number AAAAAAAAAA;
    location "L1";
}
member 1 {
    role routing-engine;
    serial-number BBBBBBBBBBB;
    location L2;
}
member 2 {
    role line-card;
    serial-number CCCCCCCCCC;
    location L3;
}
member 5 {
    role line-card;
    serial-number FFFFFFFFFFF;
    location L5;
}
member 4 {
    role line-card;
    serial-number EEEEEEEEEEE;
    location L4;
}
/* Test */
member 10 {
    role line-card;
    serial-number ZZZZZZZZZZZ;
    location C3;
}
member 3 {
    role line-card;
    serial-number XXXXXXXXXXX;
    location A510;
}

According to this KB, there should be "e" added in model listed, but I don't see it for any of devices (even 5110)

Same happens with another QFX5100 I have tried (member 10 in code above) and I need to add another switches soon.

If anyone noticed what I have missed I would be very grateful.

Michal
