Filter based forwarding on EX4600/EX4300 mixed virtual chassis

Hello everyone,

I am running 14.1X53-D27.3 on a mixed virtual chassis - two EX4600's and two EX4300's. The EX4600's are the routing engines.

I'm trying to configure filter based forwarding. Normally, I would configure a new routing instance and use "forwarding" as the instance-type, like so:

root# set routing-instances RI-TEST instance-type forwarding

However, on the EX4600 mixed VC, when I enter that command and then do a "show routing-instance," I get the following output:

root# show routing-instances
RI-TEST {
    ##

I don't have any problems when I enter the same syntax on a standalone EX4300. 

Looking at Juniper's documentation for ELS, I don't see anything referencing filter based forwarding (or routing-instances, for that matter).

Is this a limitation of the EX4600? Is there another way to accomplish filter based forwarding on the EX4600?

Any help would be appreciated.
