Does anyone know what is the expected behaviour during a master switch failover in a EX2200 virtual chassis?
I have 2 switches in a VC, doing nothing special, a bit of STP, no layer 3 stuff, if I fail the master switch it can take 2 minutes before traffic starts flowing again. Now I know juniper says the EX2200 does not support GRES, NSB, NSR etc, but it does say it supports Graceful Restart For Virtual Chassis, so what is that exactly?
I have read blogs where people have experienced similar behaviour, up to minute of no traffic, so I'm just wondering what other people have experienced? Also if anyone could share the behaviuor of EX2300 in a VC switchover which support more Graceful features.
I am running a 15. junos release, and I believe Juniper now recommend a 12. release for EX2200 because of memory limitations if you're running certain features, so I'm wondering if changing release would speed it up?
If anyone could share their experinence, would be great.
