Hi all,
I'm fairly new to Juniper and have a question about the way we have to assign ports to vlans. Once the vlan has been set in the switch (EX4200), I assumed the following command was all that was needed to assign the port to the Printer Vlan.
set interfaces interface-range Printer member ge-0/0/9
But this didn't seem to work for me, so I asked another co-worker and found out that the following two commands had to be entered as well:
set interfaces interface-range Printer unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode access
set interfaces interface-range Printer unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members Printer
Can anyone help me understand what is going on with these additional commands? I'm truly confused by the second one.
Thank you
